I crawled into bed, wasted, with Kraven at 7am. We woke up at 2pm & I opened presents from my mom (the skirts & dresses I wanted from American Apparel/Urban Outfitters - yes!). We went to Kraven's so he could get ready & I watched "Paul Blart: Mall Cop". Then we drove to get Ashley from work & went to Denny's for dinner. After we were done, we went back to Ashley's for MIMOSA CHRISTMAS & Christine joined us. After about 3 hours of that, Tiff came over & the 5 of us drove to Styxx, where we met up with Crystal & Ashley. Then we proceeded to dance the night away. I wore a bright green tube top dress, red waist belt & red tights. I missed Jen something awful, got called the cutest elf ever all day & had to deal with some bullshit drama concerned a close still-forming friendship.
Overall, it was a very strange Christmas.

Last night was one of those nights you always remember. Not because it was particularly dramatic, or exciting... but because it was so much fun & the perfect people were there at the perfect time.
( more for me. )
I miss Jen. I'm surprised, though... I'm really kind of enjoying this time apart. I think it's healthy for us & shows a real growth in our relationship.
Tomorrow is Christmas. I'm really not excited at all. My mom's sick, we don't have a tree & my girlfriend is 3200 miles away. Fuck your festivities. Me, Kraven & Ashley are going to get wasted & dye our hair. Happy holidays.

My girlfriend is in California for 8 days. I'm carving my name into my best friends arm. Femme mafia. Knate's birthday.
I had fun tonight. | |

Anyone else just watched the interview between John Snow and President Ahmedinajad? I've a few questions on that. 1) Was Snow going so easy on him because of the known habit of reporters to "disappear" after asking awkward questions? 2) Did Ahmedinejad actually think he was fooling anyone, or even the least bit convincing in his statements? 3) The apparent requirement that other world leaders must have all the virtues of God before being listened to or negotiated with rather suggests that the President has gone insane. He compared police violence in Iran to police violence in the UK as if they were totally equal. No, really. I know our police get nasty sometimes, but they don't tend to grab people off the street, brutally beat and rape them in the cells, cause disappearances, and use the sheer levels of violence the Iranian police have been shown on camera using.

I have been entering a lot of giveaways and today I found an email in my inbox..that I was the winner of this awesome Wedgewood Deco Bloom Teacup & Saucer Set. The give away was hosted by Favourite Vintage Finds. I am SOOOO excited!!!
Today's To Do list is a little insane. I have a ton of laundry that needs to get done and also I need to quick make and bake a cheesy hash brown casserole for Chris's work pot luck and then get it over there at about 11:45. I think that since I will be in Sheboygan I might stop at Target and check out what's left there of the Rodarte Go International line. It's hard to tell if it will be sold out or now here. The Erin Fetherston one did really badly...this isn't exactly a fashion forward Midwest town! I guess that is why our thrift stores are not very great.

I will leave you with this..because I think that it's funny.

As I am sure that you can tell..I have been trying to post more here on LJ. I, like so many others, was not bothering to post much. But..I LIKE LJ. I don't want it to die a horrible death. It's so much more fullfilling to make an entry here than at Facebook where all you have is a very small amount of space. It's a little bit Twittery-ish..and I never was fond of Tweeting.
So..It's almost Christmas. I have a lot of stuff that I need to get done. Most of it is not even Christmas related. It's a list that reads something like this: Fill Max's water bottle, get Daenen's pills refilled, put casserole together, laundry, and the one Christmas thing on my list...make Rosettes. I make them each year as my Grandfather's Christmas gift. They take hours standing in front of a deep fryer..and I really don't like making them. He loves them, though. This year I am making spiders and snowflakes. He may not be able to tell the difference since he has macular degeneration and his eye sight is crap..but sh shares with the staff at his home..and they should get a kick out of it.
So..Delia*s just sent me a thing that they are having their super secret sale right now and I went and looked with the intention of NOT buying anything. However, they tossed a top into clearance that I have been coveting for ages. Then I had a code (DXTGIFT) to take $10.00 of a $25.00 purchase so I went ahead and also got a brown tank top to bring the total up to $25.00.

Right now I am also pondering what to do with my hair. Colorwise and cut wise. I really like the Zooey Deschael but I am not sure if it would suit me. Her hair IS quite dark.

But..damn does her hair color makes her eyes pop!

Socialism/ leftist politics and class often come into serious conflict- and not always in a constructive way. A very popular jibe to throw at any leftist commentator is "oh, s/he's from a well-off family and s/he went to a good university, therefore s/he can't talk about working class issues or socialism".
Education is designed to equip us with the ability to think, reason, and explain. It gives us the tools to put our thoughts into words. Some people are naturally gifted in this way without an expensive education, but there is no denying that a good education is really bloody useful. If you're Eton and Oxbridge, you are far more likely to have the vocabulary, learned reasoning, and debating ability necessary to really get your point across. A good education should also encourage critical thinking skills, enabling the student to better look at any area of life or leisure, and take it apart. This includes areas like politics and economics.
Whether from direct experience of wealth inequality and the problems it brings, or from a more distant study of history and economic theory, a socialist is a socialist. They see the same problems, and the same solutions. The only difference an education makes is the method of expression.

I want a girl friend again.
Someone who will be just as excited about "Rodarte For Target" as I am. Someone who can help me fix my liquid eyeliner if we're in a hurry. Someone who knows the difference between Sephora & MAC. Someone who understands my obsession for floral high-waist skirts, wedge heels & dresses with pockets. Someone who will find a small corner in Forever 21 with me & laugh & change because the dressing room line is too long. Someone who spends way too much money on online shopping & way too much energy getting excited when the packages show up. Someone who will come skinny dipping with me in December waters & then drink mint tea with me under flannel sheets. Someone who will hold my hand while I get my transdermal implants, my microdermals, my scarification & not say "ew" once. Someone who will read my poetry & be honest with their constructive critisism. Someone who will go to a kegger with me & hold the door because it won't lock while I pee. Someone who will act ridiculous & run around in their underwear with me. Someone who doesn't get mad when Jen & I disappear for two days together. Someone Jen & my mom love just as much as me. Someone who gets so sloppy drunk, like I do, that we have to carry each other home. Someone who will wake up at 4am for a good discount, regardless if they have to work at 8am. Someone to stimulate me intellectually, spiritually & emotionally. Someone who laughs with complete abandonment, lack of regret, no remorse or shame - who can make me laugh like that again.
Someone who is unconditionally by my side.

These are the things that I like today.

I am bummed out. Anthropologie canceled my order for this shirt because they ran out...now all I am getting from them is the candle holder.
I am also getting a cold or something. My head is stuffed a bit and my whole body feels heavy.

I quick threw together this small wishlist!

American Eagle Outfitters sweaters in Navy and White in size M

American Eagle Outfitters fireball necklace from their clearance section

American Eagle Outfitters shoes in plum size 8.5

I have not been doing a ton of shopping lately but rather I have been clearing out a lot of stuff in my closet in an attempt to make room for some more QUALITY stuff. I am trying to think...less stuff but better quality. If I order something and it isn't REALLY good..it has been getting sent back. I realize that it sounds like I shop a lot..but I really don't. I HATE malls and I don't really like shopping in stores. Most of by buys are online. Although they opened an Anthropologie in Milwaukee and I am dying to go someday.

I saw a similar hat on my friend Amy in her Facebook profile picture..and I fell in love with it. I love LOVE love vintage stuff and antiques and have decided to edge my personal style more towards that then it has been in the past. When I was younger wearing things of that nature made me feel costume-y but now wearing Hot Topic-esque punky gothy stuff makes me feel costume-y.

This skirt and the hat are both from Urban Outfitters. I am not sure if the high waist will work on me at all..but it's worth a try.

I bought this from American Eagle Outfitters. I NEEDED a black cardigan that was more snug fitting than all of the too large ones that I currently have. It's a nice chunky knit and I love it. If they go on sale some more and I can find codes I want to order the navy blue one and maybe the cream one as well.

I ordered this candle holder from Anthropologie. It fits in with my teal and red room and it was only $3.98 on sale. They have blue ones as well. I read that they are the size of a coffee mug.

I ordered this from Anthro as well..from the clearance section. I think that the picture is rather small..they are sold out now and I could only find a picture of it in my invoice.
Also..I am sorry that I complain a lot. I need to work on changing that.

There is something wrong with my Christmas Tree program in the last post. Sadly I only received one gift..but the tree refuses to hand it over!

I found this picture and I really like how my hair is in it. My semi-permanent brown, though, isn't coming out AT ALL..so I guess that I am stuck with it. I have also been letting my hair go wavy. It's less work..and it looks softer. Plus it's a lot less damaging than the flat iron/hair dryer combo that I have been doing.

All of the pictures from the front turned out really badly and I don't really want to share bad pictures! HAHAHAHA.

Here is Finn and I instead. Excuse the background..we were in the bathroom!

Yesterday I spend a good chunk of time looking at David Tennant.

I have leather trousers now, yay. They were a tenner and fit quite nicely. (some minor repair work required, but for the price I'm quite okay with making a few repairs) I have a job interview tomorrow. Must dig out suitable trousers, shirt and jacket. And locate a decent vest, since it's due to freeze this week and ladies' shirts and jackets are far too thin for winter wear.
People buying RATM as some sort of protest against the X-Factor- if you're doing it because you don't want Cowell's pets to win, try again next year. RATM are owned by Sony BMG, just as all Cowell's pets are, and he owns a rather substantial stake. If you buy RATM, you're buying from Cowell. Please seek a decent non-Sony, non-Cowell alternative (maybe even something vaguely seasonally appropriate?) for next year.

I think I'm getting strep throat. I work an 11 hour shift tomorrow. Jen leaves at 8am on Sunday morning. I can't afford to buy anyone gifts for Christmas. I don't remember the last night I slept more than 6 hours. I miss a lot of my old friendships that will just never be the same.
I've been going to the gym religiously. I'm dying my hair black with a spot of green. I got a pair of laced wedges for remarkably cheap. Jen & I are coming up on our 9 month anniversary. I'm attempting to slow down on how much I smoke. I've made a lot of really laid-back, intellegent friends.
Things are good, then they're bad, then good, then bad, ect. As is life.
